Ir. Mahathir is the Managing Director of TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd. (TNBES), a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNB. Before that, he had also served as the Managing Director of TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (TNEC). Ir. Mahathir also sits as Director in the Boards of FTJ Bio Power Sdn. Bhd., Metrosphere Hydro Tersat Sdn. Bhd., TNB Retail Sdn. Bhd. (TRSB) and few others. Previously, he had served as the Chairman of TSG Ormazabal Sdn. Bhd., and as Directors in more than 10 Boards of TNB’s investment companies and subsidiaries like Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., Tenaga Cable Industries Sdn. Bhd., Tenaga Switchgear Sdn. Bhd. and Abraj Cooling LLC. He had extensive experience of serving Tenaga Nasional Berhad in 17 different positions throughout his 24 years career, including as the General Manager of Distribution in Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) and as the General Manager of Integrated Facility Management (IFM) of TNB. He had graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, pursued Masters in Electrical Power Engineering at UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) and completed his MBA at Melbourne Business School.
