Ir. Hamzah bin Hashim is a Registered Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate and is currently serving BEM as the Secretary. He is currently the Senior Civil Engineer of Road Division at the Public Works Department (PWD). He has been involved in pavement engineering, particularly in pavement work, pavement design road safety and road asset management, for the past 20 years. He is also a Corporate Member of IEM and REAM Council Member. Ir. Hamzah graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2002 with Bachelor in Civil Engineering before completed his Master's degree in Highway and Transportation Engineering from UPM. His master dissertation is about pavement engineering and focusing on unbound layer.
