About

He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2000. He received his Doctor of Technology from Plant Design Research Group, Aalto University, Finland. Previously, Dr. Kamarizan is an OSH practitioner and a competent person as Safety and Health Officer under OSHA 1994. He has more than 10 years’ experience as SHE Engineer in the industry. His expertise covers risk management, loss prevention, prevention through design and safe by design. He is also well-versed in the latest legislation and standards applicable in Malaysia and internationally. In addition, he has vast experiences in development, management, implementation, and administration on all matters related to occupational safety, health and environment (OSHE). He also been involved in the OSHE consultancy with various government departments & agencies including Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH Malaysia), Social Security Organization (SOCSO Malaysia) and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB Malaysia). He has previously led the research team of UTM in developing the training module and duty holders’ guidance for OSHCIM based on Prevention though Design (PtD) concept. Currently he and UTM team actively providing training and dissemination of PtD and OSHCIM concept among practitioners in Malaysia.
