Prof. Dr. Nik Meriam Binti Nik Sulaiman obtained her Bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degrees in Applied Science from University of New South Wales, Australia. She went then pursue her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University UK. Prof. Dr. Nik Meriam served Universiti Malaya (UM) as an active member of the academic community for more than 30 years. She was the holder of the prestigious Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali Professorial Chair in UM. Her current work includes a focus on mainstreaming sustainability in the process industries especially related to the analytics of GHG emissions. Presently, she is attached as an Honorary Professor at University Malaya Sustainability & Development Centre and Fellow of Academy Sains Malaysia.
